Jem’s Dream to be a Doctor
Late Easter Greetings!
This time of year reminds us that each day brings the promise of new beginnings and new life - and that through Jesus’ resurrection, hope is always within reach. Because of your generosity, that hope is something we can live out in the lives of the young people we serve.
Scholar Feature: Jem’s Journey
For Jem, becoming a medical doctor has always been a dream - one that became even more personal after her mother passed away from aplastic anemia during the pandemic. Not long after, her father was forced to stop working as a Grab car driver due to ongoing health challenges, including high blood pressure and chronic dizziness.
Despite these hardships, Jem remained steadfast. As a scholar with People of Grace, she excelled in her studies and graduated with honors.
Her hard work paid off - Jem was accepted into one of the top schools for Medical Technology as her pre-med track and is now completing her second year at Trinity University of Asia. Thanks to her academic achievements, she also received a city scholarship that covers part of her tuition.
Still, the journey is not without its challenges. While her aunt and siblings contribute what they can, Jem continues to need support for her remaining school fees and living expenses.
Through the POGI scholarship program, Jem is not only receiving financial assistance - she is being reminded that she is seen, supported and not alone.
You Make Stories Like Jem’s Possible
