Floodwaters

On my first weekend in the Philippines, we drove to Pangasinan, making a stop in Pampanga. Due to the nonstop rains, both of these provinces had  flooded areas. On some streets we drove through, we feared getting stuck in the water, but thankfully, we  didn’t, and most of the roads were passable.  In Pangasinan, we spent time with two communities teaching youth and children in Mangaldan, and teaching adults in Dagupan, where relief goods were also handed out to those in need.

Representing POGI Foundation & speaking in these communities was such a privilege, and we are currently reviewing how to supporting them further and better.

I was really touched by a woman I met who introduced me to her young nephew. She has taken him into her home, because his widowed mother has a serious illness that hinders her from caring for him.

Meeting people who care for the needy in their community and seeing their resilience despite the constant onset of floodwaters is truly touching. It reminds me of the importance of what we do and how regular support is crucial.

Thanks for showing up time and again to help us reach those on the margins with the care that they need!
