Bringing Hope to India & the Philippines
On September 10, I’ll be traveling to Shillong, Meghalaya, India to visit our partners on the ground. We’ll be transiting through Mumbai and Kolkata, and are trusting that all visas will be processed in time.
We’re filled with anticipation to return to this incredible and diverse country and reconnect with longtime friends. Our mission is to bring hope, encouragement and a vision for the future, especially to the children and youth at God’s Dream Center.
We’re grateful for spaces like God’s Dream Center where children are loved, educated and equipped to pursue their purpose.
On my way back, I’ll spend a few days in Manila visiting our school and outreach community. We recently completed Phase 1 of Project Emerge—big milestone!
While we await fire and electrical permits for full occupancy, the second floor is already in use, and the school community is thriving. Below, you’ll see snapshots from their Filipino Week celebration.
Sadly, flooding remains a major challenge. Corruption in flood control projects is estimated to cost ₱118.5 billion annually (Philippine Star). Many families are displaced, and solutions are long overdue.
From Southeast Asia to the Middle East, suffering seems unending. In Syria, reports of indiscriminate violence, arrests and terror persist. On March 6, armed clashes in Latakia led to a brief takeover of neighborhoods by militias, followed by violent government retaliation (The Guardian). These are just snapshots of the immense instability so many face daily.
In the face of darkness, we press on with hope, relieving suffering where we can, and educating and empowering youth to rise out of poverty and become advocates for justice.
