Hope in Action

Despite the pain and discomfort I was experiencing that evening, there was no backup plan for our Jazz Cafe. So, with God’s help, I chose to press on and host the event.

Looking back, I’m so grateful I did.

Our intimate gathering at the Civic Hotel reminded me that it isn’t always about the size of the crowd. It’s about having the right people, in the right place, at the right time.

Here are some of the POGI highlights I had the privilege of presenting that evening.

At POGI Foundation, our mission is rooted in Isaiah 1:17 — to defend the vulnerable, care for the widow and the fatherless, and seek justice by creating opportunities that help people break free from cycles of poverty, hopelessness and despair.

Our work isn’t simply about meeting immediate needs. It’s about creating lasting hope through sustainable, long-term impact.

We believe true transformation happens when people are given opportunity, education and consistent support. Poverty is often not just a lack of resources, but a lack of opportunity. That’s why POGI invests in sustainable solutions that empower people to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

Over the years, I’ve watched young people step out of despair and into lives filled with hope. We’ve also been able to strengthen local ministry partners by easing financial burdens so they can continue serving those who need them most.

Mariam’s Story – Iraq

Mariam and her family fled the war in Syria and now live under the constant uncertainty of displacement in Kurdistan. Despite financial hardship and the ongoing challenges her family faces, she just completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences with the support of POGI.

Her dream is to become a surgeon so she can care for those in need. Through education, she has found not only opportunity, but hope for a future beyond simply surviving.

Literature Outreach Across the Middle East

One of our ministry partners recently distributed nearly 1,300 pieces of Christian literature throughout Iraq, Kurdistan, Abu Dhabi, Libya and the UAE.

Access to truth and life-changing resources is impacting communities across the region. As new partnerships continue to develop throughout the Arabian Peninsula, we’re excited to see this outreach expand even further.

As I reflect on that evening, I’m reminded that God often uses ordinary acts of faithfulness—ours and yours—to accomplish extraordinary things.
